I wish I was there to see Gak and the Hawgholic crew ride in. Oh well, another photo in the underground parking.

Dan Collins @ Old Gold

I keep digging into the endless well of Yokohama photos, I wish I could have just put the camera down and taken more time to chat with everyone. Dan Collins from Old Gold Garage Co. is one of those who I would have liked to catch up with.

400-18 or 450-18
Posted by Hon | March 15th, 2012 | Filed under Blog
Been thinking about this for a while what size Firestone ANS to get for my 45. Going to go with the 400-18 after touching base with some knowledgeable resources on the web and check this 1949 WR dealer announcement from Sept 20, 1948, that was posted on the Beauty of Speed site. Just the little extra kick to help me make up my mind.

Dedication: Tony from Sweden

It’s always cool to get a note and photo from someone in a far away place. Check out Tony’s Pan from Sweden. I’ll let his own words do the talking:
“. . . I have bought and collected all the parts for the engine from ebay and then assembled it. The enginecase is 1950 and the heads 1949. The cam is a Sifton Magnum. The carburetor is a chromed M35 that I have modified to a M25, with a Randy Smith bird deflector. I drive with a Joe Hunt magneto. Finned headcovers from California customs. The frame is a Paughco. I use a 3″ axed AEE triple tree. On the triple tree I have 49s special risers that originally was put on a springer fork end. The tank is a Hummer and the seat is a small Bates. The taillight is a Sparto Dixie, the tires are 18″ in the back and 21″ in the front. The pegs are Anderson. Most of the parts are also Ebay findings. As you can see I love the 60s style.”
Looking forward . . .
