I don't even know where to start for posting bikes that were ridden to the show. All day long people where coming from all over Japan on vintage motorcycles that are daily rides. It was a whole other show outside and in the underground parking. We're talking 1000's of bikes of interest. Here's one to start, an Ironhead (since I ride one) in the underground parking.
I've been writing about meeting with fellow enthusiasts throughout my Yokohama posts. Jeff Decker has a wealth of motorcycle knowledge and for sure is one of the most well respected enthusiasts in our community. It made my day to find out that he's down to earth and was just as excited to be in Japan as I was. We had the chance to have several brief conversations over the course of 2 days about random stuff - his "stroller crossing" techniques, his WR racer, and the experience of being at the show. Nice meeting with you Jeff, looking forward to running into you again in the future.
It's always great to know that you will bump into someone you know when you go to a foreign land. It was good to see Adam Nickel and his wife at the show. I've actually never met him in person but we are definitely on the same wave length. He did the beautiful illustration for the first Throttle. blog tshirt which people seem to connect with. I had to run early so I didn't have a chance to say goodbye but I'm sure our paths will cross again. Check out Bear Parts Co. for Adam's cool Bates replica seats and p-pads. Also below is a cool vid he put together of the show. Catch up with you soon Adam!
Lifted these photos from Jason, the 62 went to its new home while I was out of the country. Super fun bike, it was hard for Jason to see it go for sure.
This 45 and Vincent caught lots of attention on the floor. 2 very cool builds. You know whenever there is a 45, no matter what I'll be drawn in to check it out!
Mr. Tanaka's shovel is awesome, I was glad to see in in person. I followed along the build and paint religiously on the blogs and have posted many times. Great to see it in person.
Takada @ Deluxie shared these photos with me. He just returned from riding to Nagoya. Sounds like he had a blast, very cold, ran out of gas a few times but made it there and back and also met up with Yoshiki from Vise. Check out his blog for more photos.
